At 2:30 yesterday afternoon Amber and I went over to this Euro Spa in Walla Walla to be frozen half to death.

We stopped in last week so I could buy some tans, and while there we discovered they had body wraps. I asked about them, and she said that she wraps you up in this herbal mixture, it takes about an hour, and when finished you have lost about 15-20 inches, she gives you some bottles of special oxygen water that you drink for the next couple of days, and then the pounds just come falling off. Well, I was thinking, "wow!" and apparently Amber was too, so we made appointments for Friday.

It was quite an experience. I think it was more humorous than relaxing. I guess I pictured being wrapped up and put in some warm place to wait for the magic to happen.

That was really far from what actually took place...

Okay, we first had to take showers with this special aloe scrub, then we almost completely stripped to have meausrements taken, have a special gel mixture put on, and then sent to a tanning bed to warm up. So far not bad. Next the wrapping began. Amber went first. I was waiting outside of the room, they said I could come in, and Amber was all wrapped up, looking just like a mummy! I just couldn't help myself from laughing. Then the next time I saw her, she was inside of this big blue one piece jumper and being taken to these special exercise equipments. She had Amber lay down on her stomach, and then it took her legs and moved them way up and down. I guess after about 15 minutes, you had done the equivalent of walking 2 miles. Not sure I believe that one...

Anyways, I was trying to keep from laughing outloud again (in front of the nice lady) when she said it was my turn. So, in I went to also be wrapped up like a mummy. Did I mention that even your face and head is wrapped?? I was stuck in the big blue jumper, and felt exactly like that girl in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory that turned into a blueberry and rolled away.

Then it was my turn to get on the equipment. We actually did 5 different "exercises" which consisted of laying there while a machine manipulated and moved your body all over the place. Very strange experience. But I have to say that watching Amber on them was the best part of the whole experience...especialy the jigglers...very funny! Next time we're bringing a video cam.

About 5-10 minutes in the machine stuff, we began to get a little chilly. We went from a little cold to just down right freezing. She said that was the toxins leaving our bodies, and brought up blankets, mine just fell on the floor every couple seconds and was no help at all.

By the time we were done, my teeth about to start chattering! She brought up Chai Tea, and it was so good...Then the unwrapping began. VERY COLD!! New measurements were taken.

She stuck us back in robes and sent us to the tanning beds to warm up. However, though my teeth stopped chattering, it didn't warm me up!

After getting dressed again, she told us our final scores. Amber lost 15 inches, and I lost 20. Our clothes were supposed to fit differently. They felt about the same to us.

We went to Quiznos and discussed our experience there. I had actually taken my own set of measurements yesterday morning to check it for myself. So, that reassured us a little, becuase we were both a bit skeptic that we had actually lost that much!

I just finished measuring myself for today, and I DID LOSE!! A whole grand total of 2.5 inches. Wohoo. My enthusiasm has lessened a bit. I guess next we'll have to see if those pounds just come dropping off or not...

Since I bought some tans there, I'll be back in, and sharing my wonderful success with her. I'm sure she'll be so pleased.
