Have I really not updated since April 9th? That just doesn't seem right...

Well, in that case, my life suddenly seems interesting, becuase I have actually had some events happen since then!

Let's see, I had a crazy weekend in Mississippi. I flew for hours to get there and spend an amazing day and a half with Lydwin, before having to fly back on Sunday morning. I was bascially in planes and airports for about the same amount of time that I was with him. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!

It was actually warm there...and not as humid as I was afraid it would be.

The funny thing was, I had more culture shock there than I did in India! Go figure.

Then this last weekend, Amber and I went home with a couple other people. They were fun to ride with :) I knew one of them just a little bit, so it was good to get to know her a bit better, and the other one I didn't know at all. So, it made for an interesting 7 hours.

On Saturday we had a b-day dinner for our Step-mom, and got to see everybody. I went to the middle of somewhere with my sis, her hubby and my nephew. We found a river/lake place and we let lil tay throw rocks into the water. He just gets cuter and cuter all the time, I swear!

That night I went out with Ericka and Lori to Target to make a registry and then to Red Robins to chow down. Lori and I ended up talking until almost 3 am!! Lots to catch up on with eachother...

Sunday was a memorable event for sure. My Ant Sandy and Aunt Kathy's wedding reception. It was at a winery in Pdx. Very cool. I took movies (Gem and Misty, you two have got to see this) They had the most beautiful wedding cake.

After the "ceremony" there was dancing. And yeah, I actually got out there and danced. Mostly by myself, with Amber, and with my Ant Sandy and Aunt Sherry. It was fun. I know for absolutely SURE now that I can't dance to save my life. But my dad and Juanita came later, and they actually got out there and danced too! It was so amazing I had to whip out the video cam and take some movies. I dunno which is more eventful, my aunts getting married, or my father dancing in public!!

The original plan was to go up to Seattle to visit Ebenezer for a little bit before heading back to wally world, but he called me and said that his plane out of south bend was delayed. So, we figured he'd miss his next connection and either not make it in that night or be in real late, so we weren't sure if we would meet up after all. Then, about midway through the wedding reception, Amber gets sick and is throwing up. Big Bummer. We left early and went home so she could rest.

At this point I was still waiting for a call from Ebenezer telling me what was happening with his flights.

To make a long story a little shorter, we decided not to go. Then we decided we would go. His plane got in at around 11:20 and that was when we hit seattle. So, we picked him up and took him to his hotel in the most round about sorta way you can possibly imagine. He forgot the directions, and Amber and I are completely unfamiliar with Bellevue, so we made a fantastic team we three.

He and I visited for a couple hours while Amber attempted to sleep.

Gem, He grew up! He looks like an adult. Really. I mean, I can't really explain it, but he's still tall and lean. His face has thinned out or something, I just can't put my finger on how he's changed. But hey, he was like what, 21 and 22 when we all went to AU? So, that makes him at least 27 now, so yeah, I guess thats grounds for changing :) I just don't feel like we have changed, so how could he??

Time flew by, and then thing I knew, Amber and I were back here at my apartment. She stayed the night, and I don't really remember yesterday much. I slept through the whole thing. I started to not feel good. My entire family seems to have the flu.

But I do remember last night. I'll never forget last night for as long as I live.

I skipped something important. Last Friday while we were driving to PDX, Lydwin called and said he found out where he is going to be stationed. Arizona. Okay, shock. I was thinking either San Diego or Hawaii...Arizona was far from my mind. But he said that it is a training base, so that means no being shipped off. BIG CELEBRATIONS followed.

Then last night we talk and he tells me that as soon as June he could be shipped to Afghanistan. Panic. Yeah, panic about sums it up. I freaked out. Poor guy. I feel bad now, I'm sure that was the last thing he needed, a hysterical Angie. At one point I was saying "I don't want you to go" and he says "I don't want to go either!" At that point I tried to calm myself down, I felt bad, of course he wasn't choosing this! So, anyways, I guess "usually" they don't ship Arizona based people out, but in times like this, they do. There is a big shortage of marines right now.

SO, he tells me he'll know the next day for sure what his orders are. I'm not sure that I even slept last night at all.

Today it was the first thing on my mind. I managed to make it to my 8am class. Amber was still here when I got back, so she spent the day with me. She's an angel.

Then tonight he finally called and let me know that he is going straight to Arizona, not Afghanistan. THANK GOD. That's not to say that he can't be sent later, but for now, he's safe. I am so relieved.

Off to bed I go now. I need sleep. I get to be with the other family service coordinator tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to that, so I want to be awake for it.

nighty-night!
