Monday, May. 24, 2004 - 10:18 p.m.

I haven't had a full night of sleep since, well, I'm not sure. And it's all Lydwin's fault!! :D

Monday night I could hardly sleep knowing that Lydwin was the coming the next day, I was so excited. Then Tuesday comes and his flight gets all messed up because of weather. That was a bummer. He got stuck in Chicago for the night.

So, super early the next morning I got up and drove to Portland to pick him up...that was so much fun. We went to Muchas Gracias (which is his favorite) and, as he says "feasted" at my house. And, well, got a chance to be near eachother for the first time in a month (I'll spare you all the details...hahaha). Then we drove back here.

That night we went over to Lamont's to play with the baby kittens and the tiny little baby bunny (sooo cute). I want one so bad, but he promised me he'd get me a kitten after we're married, so I'm waiting :) And, really, I think we'd both rather have a puppy (I'm trying to distract him from having a baby immediately, I think I might even be making some progress...).

We hardly slept that night either...

Then Thursday we played around most of the morning, then he Amber and I went out to his storage unit to bring his stuff over to store in my extra bedroom at my apartment. But, well, we ended up deciding to go through everything and sort through what we want and what we can part with. YIKES. That was a major project. Needless to say, we brought over two carloads, one was just junk to throw away, the other to store. And almost an entirely full storage unit still remains.

When we got back we were so hungry. So we found Tyrone and his Fiance Latisha, Lamont, and Angela and the eight of us went to the Olive Garden. That was really fun.

Once again we were up to way they hey too late.

Friday morning we got up super early becuase we had appointments in Vancouver midmorning to make it to.

We're trying to decide for sure where we want our wedding to be...So our first appointment was at the Hostess House, this really neat wedding chapel that has this entirely glass wall that looks out into a garden with a waterfall...it's really pretty.

We both liked it a lot. It was fun. We practiced walking in. Actually, that made me nervous and it was just the two of us in the chapel. I think I'm gonna be a wreck the actual day of!!

So he was like, "I'm sold."

However, our next stop was to see the Willamette Star and the Crystal Dolphin. Gem, do you remember that banquet we went to on the Portland Spirit when we were in high school? Well, these are the other two yachts that you can rent. I think the two of us fell in love with them as soon as we got there. It's so beautiful along that river. Soooooo, to make a super long story short, the plan is to rent the Willamette Star for our wedding. At some point while we were getting our tour, I turned to him and said, "so, you still like the Hostess House?" And he gave me that awful look of disgust he has perfected, and was like, "are you kidding??"

After that we got an interesting view of Portland trying to find this specific print shop to choose our wedding invitations. We finally found it, stayed about 5 minutes and took off.

We went over to visit Ant Sandy and Aunt Kathy. That was really fun. Boy were they happy to see Lydwin. And he was super happy to see them too. But I swear I have never seen my Ant hug anybody for so long. And he says he got kissed by the other one :) And of course told how handsome he looked, etc. etc. Those sillies. SO mushy gushy.

Then we met my dad and Juanita and looked for most invitations. We actually picked them out. I'm so excited. I saw it and loved it but didn't say anything, becuase I wanted him to say what he liked first (or else he'll just agree with whatever I say...frustrating) and he was like, "this is the one" I was so pleased. Gem, I think we need help with wording though! How did you decide what to put in yours??

We took naps Friday evening, so I guess we did get SOME sleep :D

We actually went to sabbath school...cradle roll in fact. To watch Nathaniel while Ericka taught. That was exciting, he's so lively!!

During church the kids collect money for the building fund and take it up front...Lydwin took Nathaniel up. Oh man, I wish I had a camera for that one. He even kept him up front for the children's story..hehehe... I don't think he knew what he was getting himself into when he agreed to do it.

After children's story Nathaniel ran out the doors of the sanctuary with Lydwin on his heels. When the two didn't come back after about 20 minutes, I found them playing in a back room and watching veggie tales. It was so cute. And Nathaniel warmed up to him pretty quick again. It was fun. He knew immediately who Uncle Lydwin was. I was impressed. It's been awhile for that little munchie!

We had a big meal for Ericka for her b-day. She's 28. Amazing. Lydwin got her a nice gift...he didn't even tell me! He's so funny, he was like, "what? she's my sister too, can't I get her a gift?!"

We spent most of the afternoon working on a guest list and deciding on a menu. We have extremely limited space on that boat. So it's hard to narrow it down so much.

Sunday was rediculous. We took Ericka to lunch, and then decided to go and do our gift registries. Wow was that a huge project!! HOLY COW!! We were both excited at FIRST. Then, about an hour or two into it, we were like, how much longer? We both had headaches. Seriously. And this is Lydwin and I! Two shopaholics!! We were shocked by each other. haha.

After that was cake shopping. Another project.

I had no idea how much work went into planning a wedding. NO IDEA.

This week he's going to try and get permission to have that weekend off...I hope he gets it. Mostly for Misty's sake since she already has her plane tickets!! Other than that I think we're fairly flexible...

Anyways...he left this morning :(

So lonely now without him. It was so nice to see him, and to be able to actually be with him in person. It had been a month! That was just way to long. I remember when he was always outrageously affectionate in public and I would be soooo embarassed. But when he was here, I didn't even care, I was just so happy. All those years of being called BooBoo in public and blushing when people turned and grinned at me, and now I'm just eating all that mushy stuff up. haha.

Just a little longer...
