I guess it's about time I update. Since the last time I wrote, I became the official residential therapist. Remember when I said I would never do therapy? Well, now I do it all day everyday. I'm on-call sometimes, and have to go into work in the middle of the night when there's a crisis. I do love the kids and I actually enjoy doing therapy. Who woulda thought I'd like talking all day??
Lydwin and I moved to the foothills. Basically we live about 15 minutes outside of Yuma in the desert. But we have a house (which I absolutely love), a yard (so great for our puppies!!) and um, how do I say this... a new puppy and 3 kittens.
I can explain. Kinda.
When I graduated with my masters, lydwin decided to he would get me either a bird or a kitten for my gift. I was so excited. We checked out the birds and cats at Petsmart (the humane society brings in cats each week). However, we couldn't find a cat that we seemed to bond with, and Lydwin was kinda freaked out about birds.
So, we decided to go to the humane society to see more options. I should of known this would happen, since it did last time. AND, as anybody knows, that knows Lydwin and I, we're suckers. We had to walk past the puppies to get to the cats.
There were these 4 adorable puppies. 2 were cream colored and 2 were black. Next thing I knew we had a black one and a white one on in our arms and we were arguing over which one we wanted to take.
We took both.
Then, we went to the office to adopt them, and there was a cage with these 3 adorable tiny kittens. Lydwin fell completely in love with them. I reminded him at that point, almost in a panic, that we came for 1 kitten, and what in the world would we do with all these animals?!?!
Lydwin was already lost in love and decided he couldn't let this little black and white kitten go, and he couldn't "seperate the family". I could not talk this man out of it, nor could I really pass up on the puppy or this one fluffy kitten.
So, we went home with 5 new pets to add to Topper and Chai Bear.
I know, we're rediculous. Trust me, I know.
To make a long story short, Angel, our precious little cream puppy, with her amazing blue-green eyes just like my mom's, died. We spent over $1300 on vet bills hoping to save her, but they never figured out what was wrong.
Cuddles, the little black puppy, she was sick also, but she's a fighter and pulled through.
Our 3 kittens are growing super fast, as is Cuddles.
We're a big happy family :)
Soooo, needless to say the yard is super important!
However, this summer we lived through 118 degree weather continuously, so all the girls were inside most of the time.
Its cooling off here now...about 95ish during the day. It's so nice.

Okay, on to other news.
Lydwin has been called up to go overseas. He has to go to Iraq for 14 months. They have changed his departure date about 5 times so far that I know of. So, its difficult for me to make my plans.
I'm praying and struggling with deciding where I'm going to go now. Right now I'm leaning towards Ohio. Ericka is living out there now while Jeff is going to dental school. She is home all day long everyday by herself with her 2 boys, and her hands are full, but she's lonely. I know I'll be lonely with Lydwin gone, and it seems like that would be a good place to go.
